Harvard resident Jerry M. Sadd, 83 died Thursday, February 6, 2025, at his home in Harvard, NE.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at the United Church of Christ in Harvard, NE, with Pastor Dave Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the Harvard Cemetery in Harvard, NE. Visitation will be Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 1-4 p.m. at the United Church of Christ, with the family present from 1-4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Harvard Volunteer Fire Department.
Jerry M. Sadd was born on August 21, 1941, in Denman, NE, to Albert and Helen (Abraham) Sadd.
He received his education at Harvard Public School graduating from Harvard in 1960.
Jerry worked at Morrison Quirk, Hastings Equity Grain Bin, Hastings Industries, and NC+ Hybrids where he retired after 30 years.
He married Sandra Thompson on June 11, 1961, at the United Methodist Church in Harvard, NE.
Jerry thoroughly enjoyed coaching the Harvard Legion baseball team as well as watching all Husker sporting events. He never passed up an opportunity to hunt and fish with many of his friends and family. Most important to Jerry, he loved watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren participate in many activities.
Jerry was a devoted member of his church, the United Church of Christ for over 60 years, a past member of the Harvard Volunteer Fire Department, a Harvard City Council Member, and many various community activities.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy of Harvard, NE; four children, Jerry and wife Becky Sadd, of Hastings, NE, Shelley (Sadd) Stone and husband Doug of Harvard NE, Tanya (Sadd) Bryant and husband Dan of Grand Island, NE, and Mitch Sadd and fiance Becky of Grand Island NE. Grandchildren Blake, Heath, Michael and Nicholas Sadd; Courtney Stone, Brittany Hultman, and Reed Stone, Bailey Williams and Ethan Bryant, Lexi Grossart, Libby and Laikin Sadd and 11 great-grandchildren. Two brothers Larry Sadd and wife Pat, and Danny Sadd and sister-in-laws Linda Thompson, Delores Sadd, and Barb Sadd as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Helen Sadd, two sisters Lavon Mohr, and Jeanette and brother-in-law James Hendrickson; three brothers Junior, Ronnie and sister-in-law Shirley and Steve Sadd, and brother-in-laws Jim and Gary Thompson.
