Inez Mullen Hinrichs
Inez Mullen Hinrichs, age 70, of Hastings, Nebraska, passed away on August 18, 2026.
Inez was born on January 28, 1956, in Great Lakes, Illinois, to Hunter Mullen Jr. and Zephree Harris Mullen. She
received her education at Hastings High School and later worked at Good Samaritan.
Inez married William Hinrichs on January 24, 1996.
Those who knew Inez knew what a truly beautiful person she was, both inside and out. She was loving, funny, outspoken,
caring, and always willing to help others. She had a personality you couldn't forget and a way of bringing laughter and
life wherever she went.
Above everything else, Inez loved her family. Spending time with the people she loved meant the world to her. She
loved music, loved to dance, loved to laugh, and knew how to enjoy life. Her family will always remember her beautiful
spirit, her sense of humor, and the love she so freely gave.
Inez is survived by her children, Jason Mullen, Zephree Mullen, and Shyanne Hinrichs.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Natasha Bell Ashley, Karissa Ann Marie Mullen, Jordan Stockton,
Jocelyn Heras, Jasara Mullen, Jaciana Mullen, Jashawn Wahl, Isabella Mullen, Jason I. Mullen, Tomasa Mullen,
Hunter Mullen, and Allusion Hinrichs.
Her great-grandchildren include Ka'Syis Buckhalter, Za'Miyla Claypool, JaZarey'ah Zahnae, Xander Leon Parker
Mullen, and Zurich Rae Parker Mullen.
Inez is also survived by her siblings, Donald Mullen of Hastings, Nebraska; Hunter “Ricky” Mullen III and his wife,
Bonnie, of Grand Island, Nebraska; Teresa Mullen of Lincoln, Nebraska; Laurie Levering of Omaha, Nebraska;
and Mike Payne of Hastings, Nebraska.
Among the many nieces and nephews who loved Inez are Vanessa Mullen, Latasha Pizarro, Kaleena Biggerstaff,
Nathan Mullen, Joclyn Mullen, Olivia Levering, Taylor Mullen, and Ashleigh Hinrichs.
Her great-nephews include Devin Miller, Deante Mullen, Dashawn Dixon, and Darius Dixon, along with other
great-nieces and great-nephews who loved her dearly.
Inez was preceded in death by her parents, Hunter Mullen Jr. and Zephree Harris Mullen; her husband, William
Hinrichs; her sister, Joann Payne; and her son, Jake Hinrichs.
Although saying goodbye to Inez is difficult, her family will carry forward the laughter, love, strength, and countless
memories she gave them. Her beautiful spirit will live on through the many generations of her family and through
everyone fortunate enough to have known and loved her.
Inez was one of a kind. She loved deeply, laughed freely, spoke her mind, and brought joy to the people
around her. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
A graveside service will be held at Parkview Cemetery on September 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a
Celebration of Life at the Eagles Club from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
