Anna Jean (Rollins) Smith, 72, of Harvard, Nebraska passed away Friday, August 23, 2024.
Anna Jean was born July 26, 1952 to Royal and Beverly (Nelson) Rollins in Hastings, Nebraska. Anna Jean graduated from Harvard Public Schools in 1970.
Anna Jean was married to Melvin Earl Smith on September 12, 1969 before Melvin left to serve his country. To the marriage three children were born, Christy, Marilyn and Bruce.
Anna Jean had a multitude of different jobs but she was most passionate about being able to take care of her family and watching all her grandchildren grow. She always had a cake or a salad ready for anyone and any occasion.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 30 at 11 a.m. at the Harvard United Methodist Church in Harvard, Nebraska with Pastors Dorothy Aspegren and Dan Albers officiating. Memorial services will be livestreamed for those who cannot make it. Burial will be at the Harvard Cemetery in Harvard, Nebraska with a luncheon to follow at the Harvard Community Room.
There will be a closed casket viewing Thursday, August 29, at the Harvard United Methodist Church from 5-8 p.m. Family will be present from 5-6:30 p.m.

Anna Jean was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Earl Smith; parents, Royal and Beverly Rollins; her in-laws, Melvin Sr. and Ava Smith; her son Bruce Smith; and her grandson Kyle Smith.
Left to cherish her memory are daughters Christy and Patrick Bieck and Marilyn and Chris Smith; daughter-in-law Brenda Smith; grandchildren Ashleigh (Zach), Danita (Cristhian), Shelby (Jose), Devin (Ashley), Isabella , Destiny (Devin), Makenz (Enrique), Lillian, Alyssa, Oliver and Whitney (Aaron); and 15 great-grandchildren plus 2 on the way. She also had numerous family and friends.
The family requests that everyone dress casually for the funeral.
